I wanted to write this article for some time. This is what some have called a remarkable woman. Presented, in fact, it was recently in a book with the same name, “remarkable woman” by Editions du Regard.

The name of the business is Dr. Devona Williams. She is the founder and president / CEO of a company of 16 Performance Consulting Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc. Dr. Williams is an accomplished public speaker inspiration, trainer and consultant for nearly 30 years experience in the areas of public policy, planning and public relations company – governmental and non-profit.

Among the highlights of his career include his appointment as president of public management intern in the Reagan administration and the legislature a member of the House of Representatives from Delaware. With an eye on business as a small child, she found her way free to start his own very successful consulting and training full-time farms in 1993, Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc.

In addition to being a business woman, she is a wife, mother and grandmother recently. Achieved incredible, she has a story of overcoming tremendous obstacles and challenges in both his personal and professional life. I met 30 years ago, when she was just a chip, a pretty young teenager at a prestigious high school in Philadelphia. I had to Central High School in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia to visit schools for girls.

More than 30 years after that fateful meeting, not to see, or after the conversation with her for almost 30 years ago I read the remarkable story of William, as she was raised, the incredible challenges she has encountered in his life as remarkable, learned overcome from his business success and was on its ability to continuously and inspired to live a real success.

It describes the circumstances of a violent assault on innocent 18 years old. I cried out to God to intervene. It has helped me to escape. I felt like it was the end of my life. ”

She described how it was for them an end of a period of innocence, and at this age in early 1973, there was not much opportunity for them to get the help she needed after such an incident. She was ashamed to tell his parents. Embarrassed, as if she was responsible for the attack. I’ve never had therapy. Never told anyone until recently. But through sheer willpower and the need to complete their education, paying for it, and simply survive the humiliation of the event … they just kept going.

As an entrepreneur, especially as startup home business, you have many challenges. Some seem like they just can not be overcome.
